my parents do not trust me anymore?
they grounded me for a week because I went to the mall at 4:00 in the afternoon and forgot to tell them. I told them that I forgot I said I was sorry, but they told me that I lied, misled and deceived them, because I told them that I was only gonna chill at my friends house for a bit. I did not know I went to today. my friend is 18 and he received his official license, but my parents still dont trust him. I think Theyre really overcontrollng. They also think im a liar cuz last time I had to babysit my sister, they said I could leave the house, but I went down to the neighborhood court to shoot around with some friends for a bit, I locked all the doors, they were still angry and grounded me. its ridiculous how they think im spiral out of control, I dont do drugs or drink, and I get a's, b's and occasional C's. I have a part time job, and they think im irresponsible. How can I tell them Theyre lucky to have a son like me, and they should stop fucking crying.
Ok, I will say it as gently as I can. They are nothing more than controlling. They are entitled to punish you in this way. You have lied, and had deliberately failed to comply with their wishes and done what you wanted anyway. There is a price to pay for it. This is it. They want not to punish you, they want to trust you, but you've made it very difficult for them, sweety. You have to do as you are told to be honest, and consistent with your behavior if you want to be treated as a mature teenager. And did you say you got to shoot hoops when you should be babysitting your sister. How old is she? How old are you? Have you ever thought that a fire could have broken out at home because of faulty wiring and your sister were locked in their unsupervised. You endangered the life of your sister, you understand that? What if she was choking on a toy or something and died. Had a seizure, these crazy things happen. You have to admit you were wrong, apologize and work to become more responsible. I hope you get what I'm trying to say, honey. I know you do not agree, but if someone left you alone, locked inside the house and went off somewhere, you'd be a bit unhappy with them too. You always expect it unexpected with young children, she could have thrown up and drown in his own vomit. It happens, good luck.
